How a bag manufacturer is working with us to protect insects

Recertification of our partner area at Halfar Systeme GmbH. In 2022, we partnered with the bag manufacturer Halfar Systeme GmbH to create an insect-friendly area on their company grounds. Using a selection of regional seed mixtures and various structures—such as piles of dead wood, stone piles, and a sandy area—we have created a diverse habitat for insects that provides them with food and shelter throughout the year. In September 2026, together with Armin Halfar (CEO of Halfar Systeme GmbH; pictured on the left) and our landscape gardener Helge Jung (pictured on the right), we assessed how the habitat has developed and whether it continues to meet our standards. The results actually exceeded our expectations, thanks in no small part to the exemplary on-site maintenance! The area thus continues to provide valuable habitat for numerous insects and has been certified as an INSECT-RESPECT site for another two years.
