Springer editor’s volume: Insect Respect on corporate responsibility
Under the heading "Little Giants – About Insects, Art and Respect" Insect Respect contributed an article for the Springer editor’s volume "CSR und Digitalisierung". But what is actually the correlation between digitization, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and insects dying? The authors Dr. Hans-Dietrich Reckhaus und Tina Teucher do ask this very question in their text. Everything around us is connecting globally – so what are the seemingly small things worth at all – e.g. how about the value of one insect? To pursue this, they tell the adventure trip of the company Reckhaus. This journey began with the door opening for the art: The company experienced a supposedly absurd fly-rescue action, initiated a detailed scientific study of nature, biodiversity and sustainability, leading to the transformation of the entire business model. It’s a story about the quest for truth, rethinking and change. The editors gather numerous contributions and forewords, among others by Wolfgang Schäuble, Fredmund Malik, Timothy Hottges, Henning Kagermann, Bert Rürup, Christian Seifert, Tim Leberecht, Dieter Gorny, Christoph Keese and Valerie Niehaus, showing the need of a new way of thinking to understand and shape tomorrow’s world. If a community keeps operating too long with an outdated operating system, an end up in social unrest, competition over resources, war, isolation of the elite and authoritarian ruling systems could be destined.
